SHAWN’S STAGE LEVITATION
SHAWN Mendes has gone from global superstar to super hero – of sorts.
The Canadian reckons he can fly – well hover at least – thanks to the “kinetic power” of his fans at gigs.
He said: “There is a moment in every single set that you find yourself completely being present with the crowd.
“And there’s this kinetic energy that makes you feel like your feet are kind of levitating off the ground for a couple of seconds.”
Shawn has announced a massive UK arena tour for 2019, kicking off at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro April 6.
But he’s perhaps more interested in seeing another artist play.
He explained: “I’ve watched every single Ed Sheeran live video that is on YouTube, but I’ve never seen him perform live at an actual gig. I’m hoping I will see him one day.”
Sounds a little stalker-ish Shawn, especially considering the pair are friends who have performed together.
Dream
Shawn revealed: “He was the first artist I met.
“He flew us to LA when he was playing the Voice, I went to meet him and he like walked in like, ‘Hey man’.
“To me it was unfathomable having him come on stage but I was forgetting there was a real friendship happening.” Shawn also returns for two nights at London’s O2 Arena, a home from home. He said: “Performing at The
O2 was a complete dream of mine. “A lot of people who I really love came and saw the show. Niall Horan who’s a good friend of mine came and watched me, and that was a very special moment to me.
“London has some of the most incredible fans in the world.”
O2 customers can get Priority Tickets now through the Priority app. The general public sale starts on Friday.
