ALL THE Aces
KNOW YOUR ACE-KING
Some pertinent facts about Ace-King in the hole:
-- ‘Big Slick’ is the strongest drawing hand in No-Limit poker. Hit an Ace or a King on the flop and you’ve got the best kicker.
-- But it only gives you a one-in-three chance of flopping top pair.
-- It’s a big favourite against any Ace-rag hand.
-- But it veers towards being the pre-flop underdog to any pair.
-- It’s a perfect opportunity to double-up in a tournament or get kicked in the teeth and thrown out on your arse!
They say the key to Ace-King is to ‘use it or lose it’. Use it to accumulate chips raising, re-raising, or pushing all-in when you sense an opportunity or weakness. But if you’re not confident of being ahead through your action, then fold ’em and pat yourself on the back for having the fortitude to do so!

Q: I’ve heard of games of Texas Hold’em being played with one deck and as many as twenty-two people. Is that true? A: Twenty-two is certainly the maximum number of players who can play a game with one deck, but, other than as a novelty, it is simply too slow and difficult to manage for regular games. Can you imagine how big a table you’d need and how long each hand would take! Ten has proven to be the maximum number for maximum entertainment value on one deck.
