Golden chance for in-form partners

- MARK PEARSON

THE Scoop6 could reach the £1million marker this weekend with Fred again putting up a £100k bonus for an individual Betfred or totepool winner.

The all-flat action is made up from Haydock, York and Goodwood with four legs live on ITV4.

At York, Golden Apollo can put last week’s luckless run at the track behind him and strike for jockey David Allan and handler Tim Easterby, the combination behind Vintage Brut’s win at Sandown on Thursday.

To Haydock for a stayer’s handicap where Mancini can land the hat-trick under Richard Kingscote.

At Goodwood, Fennaan can take advantage of stall one for John Gosden. He was sent off favourite to beat Society Power at Ascot and a return to slower ground will help.

Returning to the Knavesmire where Temple Church can answer punters’ prayers by landing the mile-and-ahalf handicap. He wasn’t beaten far by Defoe at the track last July off a higher mark and has run well since without winning.

The Silver Bowl at Haydock can go to overpriced outsider Simpson. Although he has just one win to his name he is a consistent type who has a good draw in stall one. If Paul Mulrennan can get him settled and plot a run through the field, then it’s all to play for.

Final Venture is the bet to take the sprint finale at York. He stumbled out the stalls ten days ago but still ran well to be fifth.
