Vitamin plan is a berry silly idea

-

BOSS: Pester TSB staff were offered fruit to keep their vitamin C levels up during the bank’s recent IT meltdown.

A leaked document shows stressed-out employees were given extra snacks as a way of coping with angry customers and long hours.

Newsletter “Let Them Eat Fruit” from TBU, the union that represents more than 4,000 TSB employees, said: “Staff working in a number of branches dealing with customers who have not been able to access their accounts for days have been offered fruit to keep their vitamin C levels up in the face of a barrage of abuse!”

The newsletter was sent via email to all members of the union on April 24 – days after the Spanishowned bank switched its computer systems leading to disastrous results.

Customers were unable to access their accounts, pay bills, and some were able to see other people’s accounts.

TSB chief Paul Pester said 40,000 complaints had poured in within 10 days.

A TSB spokesman said: “We continue to do a number of things to support the wellbeing of TSB Partners.”
