Blow for Lana in Kane cut!
GOOD to see
Gaga is behaving like Lady Gaga again. For a few months an unusually conservative looking Mother Monster seemed to have swapped wardrobes with Theresa May. But there’s no chance of seeing our PM in a oversized leopard print suit like this one Gaga wore to a New York studio Sunday. Mind you if Tezza gets desperate for votes you never know.
INDIE star Miles Kane wrote several songs with Lana Del Rey for his new album – but turned them down for being too slow.
Miles’ new single Loaded is written by Miles, Lana and Jamie T, after he met Lana at a Jamie T gig.
But singer Miles revealed that other songs he wrote with Lana didn’t fit the mood of his new album Coup De Grace – which means delivering a death blow.
Miles, 32, told me: “I wanted the new album to be wild, very lively. Some of the songs I wrote were slow ballads – they were quite John Lennon-y. That includes other songs Jamie and I wrote with Lana. I’m still proud of the songs, but they didn’t fit for this album.”
Speaking backstage before his electrifying set at Neighbourhood Weekender, Miles added: “I definitely want to write more with Jamie and we might well work together on his next record.” Miles made Coup De Grace after splitting up with his girlfriend of 18 months. He admitted: “We broke up the day before our first writing session, so I had a lot to get off my chest. I’m sure my ex will see that I’ve written about what happened with respect. “There are a couple of lovey-dovey songs on the album. I’ve been honest about the relationship.”
Coup De Grace comes two years after The Last Shadow Puppets’ second No1 album made with Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner. Miles said: “I speak to Alex all the time – we spoke on Friday – but we haven’t had the new album conversation yet.”
Miles’ new album is named after the signature move of his favourite wrestler
Finn Balor. Miles laughed: “My wrestling nickname should be The Hurricane but another wrestler has got there first. Gutted!”
