SNG: RE-STEAL CHECKLIST

As you draw near the bubble in full table Sit & Gos, the blinds are usually of a size where they are inviting to steal. If you find yourself in the blinds and under attack, consider the following elements before you commit to an all-in re-steal.

1. Is your stack big enough that you can continue to be a threat should you get called and lose?

2. Do the stack sizes of your opponents and the proximity of the bubble give you enough sway to pull off a re-steal?

3. Is the assumed stealer loose and likely to be open-betting a wide range of hands?

4. Has the villain shown the ability to fold to a re-raise enough?

5. Do you have a hand that can compete if called?

CARD APEX

Have you heard of the ‘card apex’ live tell? It basically relates to how long you or your opponents look at your hole cards. Blake Eastman of BeyondTells.com says, “Players tend to check their cards very quickly when…on the top and bottom of their range and often dedicate more time and thought to the hands in the middle of their range. When a player sees a hand that he believes to be definitely strong or definitely weak, he tends to spend less time looking at his cards.
