STREET’S FIGHTERS

Fans want more violence

CORRIE viewers are upset the soap’s postwatershed episodes are not X-rated.

Fans watching this week’s late-night shows had hoped to see serial killer Pat Phelan resume his rampage.

But now they are moaning that the 9pm offerings have been a tame anti-climax.

One fan tweeted: “Where is the offensive language, nudity, graphic violence and distressing imagery I’ve been looking forward to?

“Patiently waiting for Flora to recreate Pulp Fiction with Pat as her victim.”

Another said: “It’s all f ****** bulls*** because Cowell wanted #bgt prime time 7:30, absolute t***!! #corrie”

Gritty

A third wrote: “Considering Corrie has been post-watershed this week it’s been quite anti-climactic.

“I’ve seen more action on Antiques Roadshow.”

The ITV soap has been criticised by fans over a series of gritty plots this year.

Phelan’s original killing spree drew 622 complaints while David Platt’s drug-rape ordeal brought in another 122.

And TV watchdog Ofcom got 82 over a scene showing vicar Billy Mayhew taking heroin in church.

Last night an insider said: “When we are on before 9pm people think it’s so dark it should be moved to a later slot. Now it’s post-watershed they are complaining it’s not violent enough. I guess this proves there really is no pleasing everyone.”
