LEON’S FILM PLAN

-

RUDIMENTAL’S DJ Locksmith is following in the footsteps of Madonna, J.Lo and Justin Timberlake and carving out a career in acting.

The musician, real name Leon Rolle, has secured a few film roles and is in talks to write soundtracks with the band too.

Leon told me: “I’m currently doing a couple of movies this year and want to integrate some music and soundtracks into that.

“It’s me acting personally and then the band will do the music so watch this space.”

Although the humble star added his acting will never be as good as musicianship saying: “My acting is not as good as what I do with Rudimental. I don’t do the stuff outside of the band as well as I do Rudimental.”

Last night they launched Junkyard Golf Club’s collaboration with Confetti Crowd and The Gypsy Shrine, an evening of glitter, and feel-good music to kick off Junkyard’s festival road trip in partnership with Love Support Unite.

The guys hope their LP Toast To Our Differences, out September, will spread a positive message.

With tracks such as No Pain and Scared Of Love, Leon revealed the album’s overriding theme is combating hate and negativity.

He continued: “The titles are powerful on this album but it’s probably no different from We The Generation or Home.

“Powerful song titles always surround us because it’s a true feeling and very relatable to people.”

Toast To Our Differences will feature collaborations with stars including Maverick Sabre, Raye and Jess

Glynne.
