FRENCH lawyers claim Princess Kate was paid too much compensation after topless photos of her were published.
They claim the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge received the “exaggerated” £92,000 payout only because of who they are.
Closer magazine is today launching a court appeal over the award against its French edition in Versailles, near Paris.
Defence lawyers will use a sexy video of Kate’s new sister-in-law Meghan Markle to try to prove that nudity is not an issue in the modern Royal Family. The clip – called Grilling Never Looked So Hot With Meghan Markle – was shot in 2013.
A source said: “They are happy with sexy photos of themselves when they are in control, but then claim huge amounts of money when they’re unauthorised. There’s ridiculous hypocrisy involved, and the outrageous compensation figure reflects this.”
Mum-of-three Kate was caught out while sunbathing on a 640-acre estate in Provence. The snaps were published in 2012.
