THE World Cup is almost upon us and the country is gearing up for a month-long festival of football. Sadly we can’t all jet off to Russia to see the action in person. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a football genius or know nothing about the Beautiful Game, it’s all down to luck. Not only can you get some extra

enjoyment out of cheering on your sweepstake team, you can also earn a few bob if your pick does well – or completely flops.

Set it up with your work mates or pals. The panel on the right lists all 32 teams, plus their odds according to bookies betfred.com.

Cut out each team, fold them up and put them in a hat.

As each person draws one out, write his or her name on the line next to the relevant team in the master box on the left.

If you charge each person £1 for a team, this will produce a kitty of £32.

Or you can go all out and charge each person £5 to make a kitty of a whopping £160.

If you go with the £1 entry, we suggest £20 for the winner, £10 for the runner-up and £2 for the worst team. If there’s more than one team tied for lowest points, look at goal difference.

If you choose the £5 entry fee, we suggest £90 for the winner, £50 for the runner-up and £20 for the worst team. But it’s up to you to work it out however you like.
