Puma perky

- By PAUL BROWN

PANAMA midfielder Jose Luis Rodriguez hopes to be fit to face Belgium after an injury scare.

Rodriguez, who plays his club football for Belgian side Ghent, suffered a hamstring problem on Monday.

But the man they call ‘The Puma’ returned to light training yesterday, working apart from his team-mates on running and stretching.

Panama face Belgium on Monday and teammate Gabriel Torres believes Rodriguez will return in time for their Sochi curtain-raiser.

Torres said: “The Puma is well, he will do different work and we hope that in two days he will be with the rest in training.”

Panama face England in Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday week in their final Group G game.
