TEDDY SHERINGHAM claims Harry Kane is the best striker on the planet and must lead by example at the World Cup.

Kane had a miserable Euro 2016 but Sheringham reckons the Tottenham star has grown in stature.

He believes his old club could struggle to hold on to a player who overtook him on Tottenham’s all-time top scorers list in January, despite signing a new six-year contract last week.

The ex-England striker told BetStars: “He could go anywhere in the world he chooses if he were to leave tomorrow. He’s that good. He’s the best number nine in the world. He’s a player you’ve got to keep but it will be very difficult to do so.”
