– Last year’s winner is back on the same mark and has shaped well in his two races this season. However, who chased him home 12 months ago, can take his revenge. He went on to record a couple of victories last term and comes here in good heart after a second at Chester. The in-form

also finished runner-up at Chester on his latest outing and remains of interest off the same mark.

He also has a reasonable draw unlike He has a progressive profile, winning at York before a Windsor second but is drawn widest of all.

– Richard Fahey runs three with the choice of stable jockey Paul Hanagan suggesting she is the best of the trio. She arrives here in good heart after a success and third at Chester and this galloping track may suit her better. It will certainly suit the lightly-raced and progressive

– All seven can be given a chance in this tight handicap but gets the nod. He tries this trip for the first time and that is a slight concern but the way he won at Newmarket suggested that would not be a problem. and

– The pair to concentrate on are and with preference for the former. The selection was campaigned at a higher grade last season, winning at Group Two and Three level and showed his wellbeing when beaten a neck on his Longchamp return. That level of form should be good enough here. Weekender didn’t look as if he stayed when third at Sandown and the drop back in trip should help. He is unexposed and still open to further improvement.

poor run at Goodwood and he would have a chance on his Chester second. The handicap that won over track and trip looked competitive and he does not appear harshly treated on a 4lb higher mark. However,

gets the nod. He had very good form last season when trained by William Haggas and his recent Nottingham second suggests he could be reaching peak form for his new yard.

– Tim Easterby has a good record in this race and ran well at Newmarket in a race where the form is working out.

is thriving at present and can complete the hat-trick. It took a while for her to break her duck but she has won her last two starts and was particularly impressive at Carlisle. Another seeking a three-timer is though the handicapper has taken a dim view of his easy Leicester success with an 11lb rise.

HAVING travelled the globe and overcome a potential career – ending injury Redkirk Warrior attempts to return victorious when he runs in next Saturday’s Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Four years ago, Redkirk Warrior, known then as Redkirk, won at Ascot and Yarmouth when trained at Newmarket by William Haggas before departing to Hong Kong.

His arrival in the Far East did not go unnoticed as he was made favourite for their Derby in 2015 but he failed to sparkle when finishing 11th. Not only did the gelding, who was bred in north Yorkshire, disappoint in Hong Kong but he faced the scrapheap as he was considered untrainableafterproblems with his feet.

Ben Hayes, who now trains the horse along with his father David and cousin Tom Dabernig, explained: “My Dad trained in Hong Kong before he returned to Australia.

“He knew the owners (Edward Lee and Jenny Tam) and they decided to send the horse over to us in the last-ditch hope that we could get him back on the track. “After he was off the track for nearly a year we ran him at Moone River and he finished second.

“Before he came to us he was running over a mile, but he was showing so much speed on the gallops that we decided to drop him in trip.”

The seven-year-old has not looked back since literally finding his feet and reverting to sprint races. Redkirk Warrior will be attempting to emulate some mighty Aussie heavyweights of the sprint division at Ascot.
