only for teams that win. We have to make sure we’re ready for the match against Tunisia.

“So I’m not talking about a generation. If you want to do that from the outside, you can, but we’re focusing on growing in this tournament.

“Tunisia has surprised many people, against England as well. They are dynamic and we have to be ready for that. They will put a lot of pressure on us.

“We must not lose possession in dangerous areas because Tunisia can then hurt us.”

Midfielder Axel Witsel wants to make sure Belgium avoid becoming the latest big nation to slip up in a tournament of shocks.

Germany lost their opening game to Mexico in the biggest shock so far, while Brazil and Spain have found it a struggle, and Argentina are on the brink of an early exit.

Witsel said: “We know we are favourites to beat Tunisia. But there are many surprises at this World Cup. Many large countries are losing points so we just have to take everything match per match.

“Hopefully we can do the same with Tunisia as we did in the first game. There are no easy matches.

“It’s a physically strong team, they’re strong technically, they put a risk in their game, so it will not be an easy match.”

Belgium are still without injured pair Vincent Kompany and Thomas Vermaelen, but both are now back in training.
