AMANDA Holden has shared a shocking video of a moped gang trying to rob a mum and her young child.

The footage shows the thugs demanding jewellery before appearing to make a grab for the three-year-old.

A group of builders with scaffolding poles are then seen chasing off the men, who “intimated” they had a weapon.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge branded the suspects “scumbags” as she appealed for information about the incident in Richmond, south-west London.

Mum-of-two Amanda, 47, said: “So I know this is happening everywhere but this was Sandpits Road TW10 – 21st June broad daylight. “Mother and child attached (sic).

“And some #Heroes in a lorry chased them off. Call 101 or

999 if u know these scumbags.”

Many of Amanda’s two million social media followers were shocked by incident, with some blaming it

on “police cuts”. One wrote: “They tried to grab the child. Some sick people out there.”

Another added: “Thanks for making us aware Amanda. When children are not safe walking with their parents what is the world coming to.”

Moped attacks are becoming more common in Britain.

Police in London alone have been called to 430 a week over the past year.

A Met spokesman said last night: “We are investigating an attempted robbery in Richmond.

“A woman was approached by four men on a black moped and motorbike who de12;35 manded her jewellery. They threatened her and her child.

“No weapon was seen, although it was intimated. Members of the public went to the woman’s assistance and the suspects fled empty-handed.” See the video at dailystar.co.uk FIND THEM: Police are hunting thugs
