Rose, 5, ‘taken from hotel’
A MUM is suing Thomas Cook after claiming her daughter was abducted from a hotel kids club in Turkey.
Janet Alexander says five-yearold Rose was led away from a supervised play area by a woman in a Muslim hijab.
When Janet, 46, returned an hour later she was horrified to find her youngest daughter missing.
The single mum and other guests at the Royal Wings Hotel in Antalya launched a frantic search.
Rose was spotted with the mystery woman near the main road and a guest brought her back.
Janet, a nurse from Inverness, said: “This has been the most traumatic experience of my life. I thought my daughter was either dead or faced being trafficked and abused.”
Janet had left Rose at the play area while she took elder daughter Lois, nine, to a scuba diving lesson.
Rose told her mother she thought the woman was a staff member.
The primary one pupil said she was invited to “go for a walk” and thought it was OK as she did it at school.
Janet said hotel staff failed to answer questions. Police said they could not investigate as Rose was unharmed.
Janet, who has started legal action against the travel giant, added: “The Turkish police were kind and sympathetic but Thomas Cook have gone to great lengths to ignore me.”
A Thomas Cook spokesman said: “We are extremely concerned to hear of this incident.
“We have a launched a thorough investigation and will work with the hotel to ensure it cannot happen again.”
