CATH’S EVA SO KEEN TO DO STRICTLY
Corrie beauty’s dance dream
CORRIE’S Catherine Tyldesley has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Strictly bosses.
The blonde beauty, who recently filmed her final scene as barmaid Eva Price, said she adores the dance show.
The 34-year-old told OK! magazine about her hopes for the future. She said: “I’ve started going to auditions and I’ve been put up for some exciting jobs.
“I’d love to do a gritty drama, but I want to try as many genres as possible.
“I don’t watch much reality TV, but the one show I do watch is Strictly Come Dancing.
“I adore it. That’s the only one I would possibly do.”
Corrie pals Samia Longchambon and Georgia May Foote have appeared on Strictly.
Catherine said she planned to keep in touch with her best friends from the show – Jane Danson, who plays Eva’s halfsister Leanne Battersby, and Georgia Taylor, who plays Leanne’s stepsister Toyah.
Exciting
She said: “I’ve been there for seven years and I think the fact that my sisters were with me for my last scene made it even more emotional.
“They’ve become my best friends. I’ve been with them for 12 hours a day.
“It is a huge change for me, but it’s an exciting one.”
She continued: “It was not a decision I took lightly.
“I live 10 minutes away from the studio, my friends work there and it’s a secure job, but you only get one life and I want to work on other projects.
“I want to travel and see my son more. I knew I’d made the right decision because I felt excited. Leaving was the right decision for me and my family.”
She said farewell to Weatherfield at a beach-themed party in Manchester’s Impossible bar.
She was joined by her co-stars including Jane and Georgia, Jennie McAlpine, Antony Cotton, Shayne Ward, Sally Dynevor and Katie McGlynn. The full interview is in this week’s OK! magazine.
