Jordan: We still believe

- By RODNEY WHITE

CHRIS JORDAN insists England’s confidence hasn’t been dented by their T20 hammering at the hands of India.

Eoin Morgan’s side were thumped by eight wickets in the first game of the three-match Vitality

T20 series at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

But ahead of tonight’s must-win game in Cardiff Jordan insisted there was no less belief in the team.

“No, I don’t think so at all,” said the Sussex all-rounder.

“We’ve been on a high in white-ball cricket for a while now and one game, one defeat, should not change our confidence.

“You still want to be on the front foot, still want to play positive cricket.

“The better team beat us on the day.

“It was a good spell from Kuldeep Yadav, first of all, and then a very good innings from KL Rahul.

“They thoroughly deserved the win, but we’ll be looking to bounce back.”

And after winning tonight they hope to cheer on their footballing counterparts against Sweden tomorrow.

Video footage emerged of the cricketers cheering in the dressing room after England’s winning spot-kick on Tuesday against Colombia.

Jordan added: “It was a really great atmosphere. Everyone was together.

“It was bittersweet really, because obviously we lost the game.

“But to see the guys out there in Russia move on to the next stage... it was a good feeling.”
