Beeb gap still gapes

WE were told the BBC pay gap was a thing of the past. Times are changing, they said.

Well not according to the new high earner figures released by the Beeb.

The top 12 names on the list are all men, with cheesy Match Of The Day host Gary Lineker pocketing more than £1.75million.

Good work if you can get it.

No woman earns more than £500,000, while the likes of Chris Evans and Graham Norton continue to rake it in despite some staff taking pay cuts in the last year.

The numbers do not reveal salaries for the stars who work on the most popular shows including Top Gear, Strictly Come Dancing and EastEnders as they are made and paid for by commercial arm BBC Studios.
