DUMPED BY TEXT

Josh & Steph get shock plane home

LAST night saw Love Island’s most brutal dumping yet.

Josh Mair and Stephanie Lam were told they were leaving the island by text message.

The shock took the happy Islanders by surprise when the eviction was sprung on them without warning.

Just when the contestants thought it was safe to relax, a text arrived with those dreaded words: “Islanders please gather around the fire pit immediately.”

Couples were told one by one they were safe, leaving Josh Denzel and Kazimir Crossley and new Josh and Steph as the nervous final two up for the chop.

Emotions ran high before the twosome were named least popular pairing in the villa, told to pack their bags and shown the door.

They did not even get the usual high-tension treatment with host Caroline Flack nowhere to be seen.

Fans knew a shake-up was on the cards after being asked to vote to save their favourites but contestants in the Spanish villa were none the wiser.

The stunt sent shockwaves through the group.

Josh and Steph found themselves on a plane home just eight days before the final. It means they miss out on a shot at the £50,000 prize, although no-one thought they stood a chance.

Both had failed to light up the screen or turn fellow Islanders’ heads.

Josh had a go at picking up Georgia Steel before she left the show with Sam Bird and Steph thought she was in with Jack Fowler before he copped off with surfer chick Laura Crane.

Producers will be hoping the paradise bloodbath will spark some fear and drama in the villa with the final just around the corner.

As Dr Alex put it: “Never simple is it? Never simple this place. Never an easy ride.”
