BRITS GO LOCO AS IT’S HOTTER THAN ACAPULCO

TEMPS COULD HIT 101 F THIS WEEK HOTTEST UK JULY DAY ON RECORD AIRPORT & TRAIN HOLIDAY CHAOS

BRITAIN’S about to get hotter than Acapulco in Mexico.

The “Mediterranean melt” could send temperatures to a new July record of 101F.

But we’re heading for meltdown with plane and train strikes set to disrupt holidays at home and abroad.

TEMPERATURES are set to sizzle past 101F as a Mediterranean melt pushes the heat into overdrive.

A blast of hot air from the south means the mercury is set to pass the century.

And weather experts are refusing to put a limit on how extreme conditions may get.

The UK is set to be hotter than glamorous climes such as Acapulco, Mexico.

The Met Office says kids and teachers enjoying their first week of the school holidays can expect more sunny weather over the next few days.

Despite the threat of rain later on, temperatures are forecast to boom past 101F – 38.5C – beating the previous July record of 36.7C set at Heathrow Airport in 2015.

But next weekend the country will be split in two with those in the east enjoying sunshine and barbecues, while the west gets hit by heavy winds.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast says: “From Thursday and through the following weekend a west/east split in the weather is likely, with the west seeing cloudier, windier conditions with some rain at times.

“Central and eastern areas stay largely fine and settled, but with the risk of some thundery showers.”

Bookies say we are odds-on to see the hottest day of the scorching year so far before July is out.

Ladbrokes say there is a 1-3 chance of bettering the 33C recorded at Porthmadog, Gwynedd, on June 28.

Jessica Bridge, of Ladbrokes, said: “Mother Nature’s generosity with the sunshine is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.”

Elsewhere, industrial action threatens to ruin people’s holidays as Ryanair may be forced to cancel 600 flights on Wednesday and Thursday.

Cabin crews in Spain, Belgium and Portugal are set to walk out over wages.

And union members on Eurostar train services could take strike action this Saturday.
