DOM: MY MIRACLE REVIVAL

-

DOM CROSBY says his “miracle” baby boy is helping him rebuild his life and career. The prop forward’s world fell apart last year when his daughter Ada died shortly after she was born.

Crosby admits the horrific memories will never leave him or his wife Megan. But it’s only now that son Oscar has arrived – fit and healthy – that Crosby feels human again.

He said: “It genuinely feels like Oscar is a little miracle, after all we’ve been through. It’s a dream come true. “Warrington were very supportive and helped me and Megan massively with our personal problems.

“But it felt like there was a bit of a cloud over me at Warrington because by JULIE STOTT of what had happened. I was getting upset with the memories and Megan’s pregnancy with Oscar was stressful because of what happened before.

“There was a lot of pressure and we had to see specialists every week, but he arrived three weeks early and is healthy and happy.”

Crosby, 27, made 17 appearances for Wolves after helping home town club Wigan win the Grand Final in 2016.

But the arrival of Oscar in May helped convince him to look for a new club so he could make a fresh start.

Now at Leeds, he said: “Warrington are a top club and it was no disrespect to them that I wanted a change. But I needed a fresh start and I’m excited about playing again. I have a lot of aspirations in the game.”

Crosby, on a loan deal at Rhinos, made an impressive debut in the 34-0 win over Widnes at the weekend.

He said: “If I keep improving week in, week out, it will get me closer to a permanent deal.

“Having only played for Wigan and Warrington before, it’s exciting that I’ve come to a team where not many people know me.

“It feels like a new start for me and I’m looking to stamp my authority and show what I can do.”

HULL KR are set to be without suspended trio James Greenwood, Danny McGuire and Mose Masoe for Friday’s big Super League derby at Hull FC.
