STEVE BRUCE has been given the green light to carry on as Aston Villa boss.

Bruce kept his job after talks with the club’s new majority shareholde­rs yesterday.

A club statement said: “Aston Villa can confirm manager Steve Bruce has met the majority owners and will continue as manager with their full support.”

Bruce’s future had been plunged into doubt with new power brokers Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens believed to be keen on hiring Thierry Henry.

JOSE MOURINHO has suffered more transfer misery with another snub from Ivan Perisic.

Mourinho is unhappy with Manchester United’s lack of movement in the summer window and reckons he needs two more top signings to turn his side into serious title contenders. Croatia ace Perisic and England centre-back Harry Maguire are the United manager’s priority targets following their impressive World Cup performanc­es in Russia.

But Perisic, 29, has now turned his back on a move from Inter Milan to Old Trafford for the second time in a year.

Mourinho (right) failed in a bid to land him last September, when the former Club Brugge and Borussia Dortmund winger chose to sign a CHELSEA are refusing to sell World Cup winner N’Golo Kante.

The France midfield ace has been a top target for Paris St-Germain all summer, with Barcelona also keen.

But the Blues and new boss Maurizio Sarri won’t let him go.

It’s been claimed PSG and Chelsea had been in advanced talks over a potential £100m sale for the 27-year-old (inset).

But a Chelsea source revealed last night: “There is absolutely no chance Chelsea are going to sell Kante.”
