The episode airs on E4 at 10pm on Tuesday. POOR Ed Balls. He thought he looked the bee’s knees when he donned a red leotard with a Union Flag and called himself The British Bruiser for a wrestling match on his new TV show.

However, when the ex-Shadow Chancellor and Strictly star Skyped home to show wife Yvette he was left somewhat deflated. She told him:

WIZARD Harry Potter famously sent messages back and forth to his friends with the help of pet owl Hedwig.

Now it seems Simon Cowell is copying him.

But he is using pigeons as winged messengers.

The X Factor boss, 58, gave up using his phone a year ago.

He claims it has been beneficial to his health not to be tied to his mobile all the time.

Cowell explained: “It has been so good for my mental health. It’s absolutely made me happier. I got irritated “Oh my God. What on earth? The thing about the flag bit, that just accentuates your belly.”

But he protested: “That was the least supportive phone call I have ever had.”

Ed’s new show – where he travels to America’s Deep South to chat to Donald Trump supporters and haters – starts Sunday at 9pm on BBC Two. in meetings where everyone’s on their phone. You can’t concentrate.

“The difference it has made is that I have now become more aware of the people around me and I’m way more focused.” Now he’s told the crowds at X Factor auditions this week that if he wants to get hold of people, he uses birds.

He said: “I have pigeons that deliver my messages now. I haven’t used my phone for a year so if I have to contact people then I send pigeons.”

Let’s hope they manage to fly through Sinitta’s windows!
