WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY

- MIKE WARD

WHAT’S this Leanne and Toyah are reading? “Blimey!” Leanne exclaims, “it’s says we’ve won joint first prize in the Worst Dressed In Weatherfield competition!”

Only kidding. It’s actually the bit in tonight’s CORONATION STREET (7.30pm & 8.30pm, ITV) where they find a letter from Eva, saying she’s left.

Which indeed she has. It’s been a tough decision, I’m sure – well, tough-ish – but with Toyah having grown so attached to baby Susie, Eva has decided a fresh start elsewhere is the best move. She’s right, of course, unless she ends up somewhere even more hellish, such as Walford, MIdsomer or that place where they film Death In Paradise.

Meanwhile, what’s going to happen to Kayla in the light of her barmy behaviour this week – kidnapping poor Bethany and all that – particularly now she’s finally realised her dad really is a rapist scumbag? And what’ll be David’s excuse when Shona finds he’s been arming himself with a flick-knife? ELSEWHERE, three weeks in a shipping container don’t seem to have slowed fugitive copper Harry’s reflexes as he returns to London in STAN LEE’S LUCKY MAN (9pm, Sky One). Just as well, because James Nesbitt’s character has barely stepped out on the dockside, along with fellow traveller Eve, before he’s having to dodge bad-guy bullets again. ALSO tonight, there’s a rerun of ITV’s most recent DOC MARTIN series starting at 9pm, plus an encounter with a serial killer – well, OK, a bloke who used to play one in Corrie – for the plucky bunch from CELEBRITY
