Parents want to leave sprogs
HALF of stressed parents would rather go on holiday without their children.
They would happily leave kids with a grandparent or childminder to go alone or with their partner.
Just over half – 53% – say they are staying in the UK this summer rather then heading abroad.
And 36% admit taking their kids out of school early to beat the rush and save cash.
Half of the parents polled by Families Online could only manage one week away due to being skint or having work commitments.
A beach holiday was chosen as the best break by 72%, with 36% opting for an all-inclusive resort.
One in five said their summer holiday costs about £2,000, with 10% confessing to spending at least £5,000.
Bryan Hastings, 36, of Edinburgh, said he would love to go away with his partner and leave his kids, aged seven and 10, behind.
He said: “However much I love them I could do with a break from them now and again.
“When we go away on holiday it’s always a mixture of constant stress and fun.”
