MY new boyfriend is worryingly insecure and jealous.

I can’t even mention male friends, blokes I used to work with or attractive guys on TV without him flipping right out.

Recently, at a family party, my cousin started ribbing me about my first boyfriend – the guy I went out with between the ages of 15 and 17.

My boyfriend went nuts on the way home. I thought he was going to slap me.

He accused me of still being in contact with my ex and of still fancying him.

When I pointed out that he is now married to a lovely guy called Sam and lives in Brighton, he stomped off.

Since then I’ve texted him to say sorry for subjecting him to my family, but he’s still sulking and I’m confused.

JANE SAYS: Please get out of this toxic relationship before there’s another episode.

If this pathetic man has no sense of proportion, then he’s not right for you.

You were reminiscing with a close relative during a social event. End of.

If he’s so insecure that he feels threatened by your past, then he’s the loser.

If he’s like this now, in the early days of your relationship, then imagine what he’ll be like later on.

Jealous, suspicious individuals like him are to be avoided like the plague. I suggest you view this incident as a valuable wake-up call – so walk away now.
