Pervert caged
AN American ex-soldier blackmailed a British
12-year-old girl after persuading her to send him naked pictures of herself on social media.
Christopher Ernest Fox,
21, was jailed for 15 years and ordered to pay £7,600 to the girl by a court in Honolulu, Hawaii, after befriending her on the web.
The girl’s identity was not revealed. Fox’s arrest followed a tip-off from Wiltshire police. ENGLISH Defence League founder Tommy Robinson walked free from prison yesterday after a court overturned his conviction for contempt.
He had been sentenced to 13 months after broadcasting footage of defendants on social media.
But the Court of Appeal decided there were technical flaws in the ruling of the judge who jailed him. Now the allegations against Robinson, 35, will be reheard at the Old Bailey later this year.
If found guilty, Robinson may even be given a longer jail term.
The Court of Appeal ruled the original judge “rushed” Robinson’s trial and, as a result, the court did not hear which part of his offending footage was problematic.
This meant he could not defend himself properly.
Three top judges said that as a result of the “muddled” hearing Robinson was treated with “unfairness” during the five hours from his arrest to being sentenced.
