Doorstep death quiz for glazing boss

- By JACK ANDREWS jack.andrews@dailystar.co.uk

A DOUBLE glazing firm boss was under arrest last night on suspicion of killing a dad on his doorstep in a road rage attack.

Oliver Brown, 21, was being questioned over the death of 37-year-old Stephen Walsh.

Stephen was driving a Lexus which was in collision with a silver Vauxhall van at around 10pm on Sunday.

Assault

He failed to stop at the scene in Mapperley, Nottingham, and drove around the corner to the home he moved into with his fiancée and two children two weeks ago.

Moments later a man turned up and launched an assault before saying he would return the next day to exchange insurance details.

Mr Walsh was found dead in the early hours of Monday morning with serious head injuries. Officers yesterday stood guard outside the home of the suspect Brown as forensic teams examined Mr Walsh’s detached property 300 yards away.

Neighbours say that Brown celebrated his 21st birthday last Wednesday, just four days before Mr Walsh suffered his fatal injuries.

Last night Brown’s dad Brian confirmed that his son had been arrested on suspicion of murder, but claimed it had been a case of self-defence.

He said: “Oliver’s just a normal person, he’s a good lad and honest.

“Everybody loves him, he’s not got a bad bone in his body.

“It’s just one of those things, wrong place wrong time.

“It was a horrible, horrible accident. We’re going through hell. It was selfdefence, so you’re entitled to use minimum force to protect yourself.”
