Rain stops play for Jax

-

THERE’S no way you will catch Jax Jones in a mosh pit any time soon.

Despite playing to some of the wildest crowds across the globe, the DJ admitted he’s never been to a festival as a guest and never plans to either.

And if you expect him to play a UK festival where there’s a risk of rain, Jax wants a guarantee his expensive trainers won’t touch the mud.

The Ring Ring hitmakaker told me: “I’ve never been to a festival as a punter. I’m 30-years-old, I’ve been in the music industry since I was 21, I don’t do them as a punter.

“I need urban festivals where there is concrete or in Ibiza or something, I don’t do grass, mud and s***.

“I’m too boujee for all of that. I’m not tenting and all that, I’m all about five stars indoors.” He knows one way he can get around that when booked at a festival. He laughed: “If I’m playing it’s all about the buggy too, I want to keep my trainers fresh and these festivals can get messy.”

On August 10 an exclusive short film will premiere on Apple Music and the rising star hopes to keep dominating the charts with collabs with Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding in the works.

Jax let slip: “We’re trying to get this one track to Rita. We have one tune that’s perfect for her, she’s killing it.

“Me and Ellie are doing like musical love right now, we’re going spend a week together, make some music and we’ll see, some great summer/festival songs.”

We can also expect surprises all summer, he grinned: “There’s a lot of collaborations in the bag right now, a lot is going!”
