PAUL Tisdale bring an end revolving door Dons. plans to to the at MK

The Dons have gone through four different managers in three years but have turned to Tisdale to bring some much-needed stability.

Tisdale is certainly used to the long haul. He was the longest-serving manager in the Football League before ending his 12-year spell at Exeter this summer.

He joins a club that just three years ago were looking forward to life in the Championship.

Now they are back in League Two in need of rebuilding if they are to live up to their billing as promotion favourites.

Tisdale, 45, said: “The last few years have been disappointing on the pitch. Although there is loads of potential here, there is still lots of building to do.

“I’m a manager looking to build a long-term project but we’re not going to get it right overnight.

“I don’t think anyone expects that. But we are realistic where we want to be even though there’s a real challenge ahead of us because it’s a tough league to get out of.”

Fashion-conscious Tisdale puts dreary tracksuit wearing bosses to shame as a Ted Baker ambassador, and says he only has designs on winning promotion this season.

They start their campaign at Oldham tomorrow and Tisdale added: “The ambition of the club requires promotion.

“This is a top-quality football venue and we need to do it justice going forward.

“But I’m taking over a club that has suffered relegations. It’s a group that has not been used to winning.

“I have to stop the wheels turning backwards before we can turn them forwards.

“If things go right and we find a rhythm, we’ve got a chance of making it to the top part of the league.

“I have a lot of work to do but we’d be doing ourselves a disservice if we aim too low.”
