LAST PIC OF ANGEL

Help cops find midwife:

- by JACK ANDREWS jack.andrews@dailystar.co.uk

THE sister of a missing midwife broke down yesterday as she made a heart-wrenching plea to find her.

Samantha Eastwood vanished after a hospital shift on Friday last week.

Yesterday her sister Gemma begged the public for information and sobbed: “We need you home – without her, half of me is gone.”

Samantha went missing after a night shift at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Staffs.

Police are baffled after the 28-year old just “dropped off the grid”.

She had recently split up with her fiancé and had tried to sell her wedding dress online.

In a desperate TV appeal, Gemma said: “Samantha is a happy, bubbly and smiley woman. She can be very straight and direct.

“She is my best friend and partner in crime. Without her half of me has gone. Samantha, if you are listening please get in touch.

“We all love you and miss you very much. We just need you home, where you belong.”

Gemma added: “Samantha is a fantastic woman and friend.

“She is warm, friendly, loyal, kind and generous, with a great sense of humour. And whoever she is with, she will always make their time together fun.

“Samantha was determined to become a midwife from a young age and succeeded.

“All of Samantha’s work friends describe her as an amazing midwife.

“If she’s out there, or anyone knows where she is, please get in touch. Get her home.”

Worried colleagues “knew something was wrong” when Samantha failed to return for her next night shift.

The midwife was due to get married to John Peake, 34, but the wedding “fell through”.

John has shared links to stories about her disappearance.

He begged in one post: “Please please help find Sam and bring her back safe to her family.” Samantha was said to be in “good spirits” before she was last seen pulling out of the hospital car park.

But neighbours have reported hearing screams from her home in Baddeley Green, Staffs.

Her car was found outside her house. Her keys and bank cards were also found but police are still looking for her missing purse.

Officers spent four days outside the house of Mr Peake’s sister Katie Stirling and her husband Michael.

Detectives arrested a 32-yearold man from Stoke-on-Trent on suspicion of kidnap but he was released under investigation.
