Fury happy to step in with Wilder

-

TYSON FURY wants to fight Deontay Wilder and I’m backing my man to take on the challenge that Anthony Joshua walked away from.

There has been plenty of pessimism since the news of our talks with the WBC heavyweight champion’s team came out.

And Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn was leading that particular charge by casting doubt over whether the fight will be happening.

I can tell you that it is very close to being agreed.

Hearn said Fury doesn’t have the confidence to take on top opposition so soon after his comeback from two years out of the sport.

But this is the same man who claimed he couldn’t sign the former world champion because of the level of fighters he wanted to take on – and now he is criticising him.

Hearn also claims that we have only talked up a Wilder fight to sell tickets for Fury’s fight against Francesco Pianeta at Windsor

Park in

Belfast next weekend.

That’s interesting considering the show

– topped by hometown hero

Carl Frampton Interview by

CHRIS McKENNA against Luke Jackson – will be a sell out as there are less than 500 tickets left.

This event, that also features another Belfast fighter in Paddy Barnes taking on WBC flyweight champion Cristofer Rosales, didn’t need any help to pack out the home of Northern Ireland football.

Fury taking on Wilder could be just upsetting Hearn because we have shown how easy it can be to work with the American’s team.

It also proves what I’ve said all along – that Hearn didn’t want WBA, IBF and WBO champion Joshua facing Wilder next.

He was always going to fight Alexander Povetkin, even when they were making everyone believe they seriously wanted Wilder.

This is all from the man who likes to tell us he has saved British boxing from oblivion over the last decade.

The only boxing that was on 10 years ago was in leisure centres, according to him.

He must have missed us staging sell-out shows at the O2, Manchester Arena, ExCel Arena and many more.
