SAM FOX: MY SEX SLUR TORMENT
PAGE 3 SAM’S TROLL AGONY
PAGE 3 legend Samantha Fox has demanded an apology from the police after she was linked to a sex offence trial.
She says she has been viciously trolled ever since.
SAM Fox wants an apology from police after she was linked to a failed grooming case against music mogul Jonathan King.
The Page 3 legend was trolled after a court heard ex-BBC DJ King allegedly pretended she was his girlfriend to lure young boys.
The trial collapsed in June due to disclosure failures by Surrey Police and King, 73, was cleared of all wrongdoing for the alleged historic offences.
But Sam, 52, said that police never contacted her about the case and online bullies abused her after her name was mentioned in the trial.
She accused police of failing to use her statements denying the claims. She said: “I was never his girlfriend.
“I was horrified when I read headlines saying that I was Jonathan King’s girlfriend at a time when he was accused of being a paedophile.
“The prosecution used my name to give the case notoriety and dragged my name through the mud.”
She said it made headlines and “went viral over the internet”. The former model added: “I was trolled for being a ‘paedo lover’, which made me feel sick to the stomach.
“Other comments accused me of telling lies in my recent autobiography, Forever, in which I briefly mention Jonathan King as a friend who back in the 70s had tried to help me launch a career in the music industry.”
She said she was told by police her comments would be given to the detective in charge who would “get in touch”.
Sam also provided witness statements – but claimed they were not used.
She said: “The DCI never contacted me. I was shocked and traumatised by the whole affair and it caused great distress to me and my family, tainting my name in the process. I am disgusted by the cops’ dishonesty.”
An independent review has been commissioned after the decision to dismiss the case due to failures in the prosecution disclosure process.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: “Evidence relating to Samantha Fox was heard during the trial in June as part of the prosecution case.
“A statement had been taken from her during the investigation. Our professional standards department has not had any contact from Mrs Fox relating to this matter.”
