CARL FRAMPTON will rise to the occasion and ensure his Windsor Park dream does not turn into a nightmare.

The Belfast boxing hero takes on Luke Jackson tonight in an interim WBO featherweight title clash at the home of his beloved Northern Ireland.

Aussie underdog Jackson may not be a boxing superstar but he has the chance to ruin Frampton’s big night.

This will be a special occasion with 25,000 fans packed into the national football stadium and those supporters will roar Frampton past Jackson to line up a world title fight for later this year.

He has been waiting for this and I am sure he won’t let the pressure get to him.

When we signed Frampton, it was a massive coup to land one of Britain’s biggest names in the sport.

Folklore

One thing he was keen on was achieving his ambition to fight at Windsor Park. We delivered that and now it is his time to take advantage.

If he wins he can write his name into Windsor folklore, too.

There have been some magical nights at the famous football ground, including David Healy’s winner against England in 2005 and George Best’s masterclass against Scotland in 1967.

Now Frampton has the chance to write his own history at the ground he used to go to watch his heroes play.

Watching ringside will be IBF featherweight champion Josh Warrington, who is working for BT Sport as a pundit.

Both Frampton and Warrington want to face each other, so that is a fight we will try and get sorted for later this year.

But first he has to make sure there are no slip-ups against Jackson on what should be a fantastic night of action.

Frampton’s pal Paddy Barnes takes on WBC flyweight champ Cristofer Rosales, while Tyson Fury against Francesco Pianeta is the special attraction.
