SHAMED Hollywood star Kevin Spacey’s latest movie made just £98.78 at the box office on its opening night in the US.

The Billionaire Boys Club’s disastrous start demonstrates how Spacey’s Hollywood career is now over.

Just a year ago he was lauded as one of the greats of modern acting.

Spacey was fired by Netflix from House Of Cards after Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp alleged 26-yearold Spacey made sexual advances towards him when he was 14.

Other accusers then claimed Spacey, now 59, had made sexual advances on show workers.

Billionaire Boys Club, which also stars British actor Taron Egerton, opened in just 10 cinemas scattered in select states across the US on Friday.

No LA or New York cinemas even screened the movie, and its biggest cash came from Metro Movies in Middletown, Connecticut, where

£33 was made.

The film was based on the real-life club of the same name that made headlines with their get rich schemes in the 1980s.

Mistake

Spacey plays Beverly Hills high-roller and one of the ring leaders Ron Levin.

Jeff Kelly of US PR and marketing firm JDMC revealed: “Kevin Spacey’s career has hit the crash barriers. The figures are cataclysmic.

“This was a mistake to even release the film let alone think it would do anything.

“The public vote with their feet, and while he may not be charged with any criminal wrongdoing, the court of public opinion has spoken.”

He added: “In Hollywood nothing is impossible when it comes to redemption, however, Spacey will need a miracle to ever be considered a leading man again.”

Spacey’s fall from grace followed the allegations of sexual impropriety by a number of men.

Netflix fired him immediately from House Of Cards, changing the entire set-up of the series.

Ridley Scott replaced him in All The Money In The World for Christopher Plummer. His last release Nine Lives, made just £197,000.
