Frampton wants all out Warr!

- By CHRIS McKENNA

CARL FRAMPTON believes his clash with Josh Warrington will deliver the thrills his win over Scott Quigg failed to.

The Belfast hero ensured his dream night at Windsor Park didn’t turn into a nightmare as he stopped Aussie Luke Jackson in the ninth round.

Frampton defended his interim WBO featherweight title with ease and now ‘The Jackal’ will challenge IBF champion Warrington later this year, with the Manchester Arena favourite to host the clash.

The same venue staged Frampton’s

2016 win over Quigg which looked set to be a dramatic domestic dust up at superbantamweight on pay-per-view but ended up being a comfortable victory for the Belfast fighter.

Frampton said: “Scott Quigg’s tactics when he fought me were strange and I won the fight not having to do a lot.

“I don’t think Josh Warrington is going to give me six rounds by not doing anything.

“It is a different fight and it will be a better fight – it has to be as it couldn’t be any worse.”

Warrington, ringside in Belfast, said: “I’ve not come over here to just look at the Titanic museum.

“I want to fight the best. I want to go all the way to the top. You earn your stripes by fighting these big names.

“I believe I have the beating of Carl, that is why I’m not afraid of fighting him. I want that test.”
