Diana’s ex-bodyguard slams Harry & Wills
PRINCESS Diana’s ex-minder has laid into her sons Harry and William during a bitter rant.
Ken Wharfe, who was Diana’s royal protection officer for five years, claimed the two princes had “let themselves down”.
The former bodyguard hit out at the pair’s behaviour since their mum’s death.
He slammed Prince Harry’s party-boy antics, including wearing a fancy dress Nazi uniform, and for not “protecting” his new bride Meghan’s dad from the press.
A retired Metropolitan Police inspector, Mr Wharfe did not go into detail about what he believed were William’s faults.
He said: “I don’t think people have let them down, if anyone has let them down it’s probably themselves.
“If you look at Harry, for example, he came into public notice through his untimely wearing of a Nazi outfit on the
60th anniversary of the Holocaust. “We all know he didn’t do this intentionally and it was a private party. “All these things gave him the negative publicity – you can’t blame anyone for that other than himself.” Mr Wharfe, 69, gave 24hour protection to Princess Diana from 1987 until 1993 and was one of her closest allies. He hit out at Harry’s treatment of his new father-in-law. The security expert said: “He’s not an unintelligent guy. “He knows what intrusion is like.
“He has a drawbridge and a portcullis to hide behind when they pursue him. Thomas Markle doesn’t. Nobody’s looking after him.”
