F1 2018 ...fuel love it!

-

FORMULA One is racing back to the track in Spa this weekend and it’s also revving onto consoles in a rebooted game.

F1 2018 is the latest version of the Codemasters classic.

And it’s more exhilarating than ever with extra tracks, better visuals and drivers that are exhaustingly tough to overtake.

Each year this title gets refuelled with more features and 2018 is no different as this racer now adds the extra pressures facing a real

F1 driver.

Join a team, secure your contact and try to beat your team-mate on the track or else you’ll face calling the next taxi home.

If you end up in the wall you’ll not only have to answer to the team but now there’s the headline-grabbing media to deal with, too.

They’ll be asking tough questions of you after every session and you’ll need to be on top of your game to keep everyone happy and onside.

This career mode is seriously intensive and you’ll spend hours fine-tuning your car in a bid to grab a place on the podium.

If that all sounds like too much effort then don’t panic as there’s plenty of options for a quick Grand Prix, time trials and online race modes.

Every team, every driver and all the new tracks, including the Circuit Paul Ricard, are included and the cars have been revamped and refreshed to match the real designs of 2018.

The graphics have also been tweaked with subtle changes such as dust, dirt and splatter- ing of rain making it feel more realistic than ever before.

Codemasters is also boasting that real-world data has been used to add even more realism to its new game with every bump changing the handling of your car.

Jump the curb and put the power down too early and you’ll do more spins than a contestant on Strictly.

Adding to last year’s update are more classic cars so you can try your skills at racing Jenson Button’s Championship winning Brawn or have a go at keeping control of a 1976

Ferrari. All this makes F1

2018 a terrific racing game that looks better than ever but it can get very technical at times and so is probably best left to die-hard fans.

We’d also say that if you have last year’s title and aren’t that bothered about the new cars, circuits and visual upgrades it might be worth giving this £50 update a miss. That said, if you love Formula 1 and truly want the most lifelike and best racing game of all time then F1 2018 has put itself firmly in pole position.
