STYLISH SAUNTER

Williams eyes Ebor treat

- BRETT WILLIAMS

SAUNTER has been the steamer of the week in today’s Ebor (3.40) at York.

Ian Williams’ charge, was an impressive winner at Newmarket last time and is in to 18-1 from 25-1 under Fran Berry.

Williams has a fine record in these staying contests and has saddled three winners from his last nine runners.

But Unibet have seen plenty of cash for others including Sea The Lion, at 14-1, who bids for a fourth consecutive victory after a good performance at The Curragh last time.

Whiskey Sour at 8-1 has the services of William Buick and bids to give Willie Mullins a second win in Europe’s richest handicap.

But the stable have a better chance with Stratum who landed an almighty gamble at Newbury last time and Robert Winston‘s mount tops the betting at 7-2.

Unibet will be give your money back if your horse finishes second in all ITV races today, and of the each-way horses, Muntahaa has been strong at 18-1 from 25-1.

Elsewhere on a brilliant card, Sir Michael Stoute has a big chance of landing the Strensall Stakes (1.50) with 11-4 shot Mustashry who bagged this prize last year and has been very lightly raced since.

Seniority scored in the Unibet Golden Mile at Goodwood and is up in grade but that has not earned support for The Queen’s runner who is 15-2 from 12-1.

William Haggas has winners for fun at York and his Heart Of Grace is extremely strong in the Melrose Handicap at 2.25.

Very unexposed, Liam Jones’s mount tackles this company for the first time but the fact she is running in this is a tip in itself.

We have also seen interest in Corgi who is weighted to confirm superiority with Making Miracles on their Goodwood run.

The Celebration Mile takes centre stage at Goodwood (2.05) where Beat The Bank is bidding to beat the bookies at 6-5.

Back down to G2 class should see him in a much better light and Oisin Murphy could not be in any better form.

Oh This Is Us, representing Unibet ambassador Richard Hannon, is a standing dish in these type of races and has been clipped into 10-1 from 12-1.
