CRAIG HALL’S four-try haul helped Hull KR romp to victory over Halifax.

The Robins moved a step closer to securing their Super League status for 2019 by notching their third straight victory in the Qualifiers.

But the win came at a cost with Adam Quinlan and Justin Carney picking up injuries that could end their seasons.

Speaking about the injuries, Hull KR coach Tim Sheens said: “We’re banged up down there. We’re going to have to reinvent ourselves.”

Hall got the ball rolling after just six minutes when he crossed off Quinlan’s pass.

His second came off another Quinlan pass and then the full-back kicked to set up James Greenwood.

Hall’s hat-trick was complete on 18 minutes when the winger took a high shot to the head but still managed to get the ball down.

Soon after he touched down again on the left, with Quinlan the provider once more.

Hull KR were cruising at 24-0 but three minutes into the second half Halifax scored when James Saltonstall dived over.

The Robins edged further ahead through a Hall penalty goal, before Saltonstall grabbed his second try.

Hull KR responded with tries for Chris Aitkin and Shaun Lunt, before Halifax’s Dan Fleming and Will Sharp crossed in a frantic end.

Halifax coach Richard Marshall admitted: “In the first half we just lost our way.” FRENCHMAN Julian Alaphilippe sealed victory in the Tour of Britain yesterday.

Aussie Caleb Ewan won the 48-mile eighth and final stage around the streets of London.

Britain’s Simon Yates increased his lead in the Tour of Spain to 26 seconds over Alejandro Valverde after finishing third in yesterday’s 110-mile stage 15.
