CBB winner Ryan thinks she is ‘punished enough’
CBB winner Ryan Thomas has forgiven Roxanne Pallett for claiming he assaulted her.
The ex-Corrie actor was devastated when she accused him of punching her in a playful sparring match.
But after being crowned winner Ryan, 34, said he has no hard feelings for the former Emmerdale favourite after she admitted she “got it wrong”.
He told host Emma Willis: “If she wants forgiveness and it makes her feel better then I would rather give her that, because I think she’s been punished enough by the public and people around her.”
Ryan is now planning to settle down with Towie girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh, 27.
The pair have been dating for more than a year since meeting on Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls.
Ryan said: “Lucy is somebody I would want in my life for a very long time. Babies and marriage is another step that we’ll talk about in time.”
But the father-of-one refused to say whether Lucy would ever forgive Roxanne for accusing him of assault.
He now plans to take things slowly after spending three-and-a-half weeks inside the CBB house.
Ryan said: “I put myself in a very challenging position and I’ve only just got over that.”
Around 25,000 viewers complained to TV watchdog Ofcom over Roxanne’s assault claims against him. Ryan’s mum, brothers and girlfriend all leapt to his defence. He went on: “I don’t know what’s been said about Roxanne, I only know what I went through when I was in Big Brother.
“I really don’t want to fuel something that I feel Roxanne has gone through without me.
“I feel as if I don’t know enough about the outside world to start commenting.”
The actor said seeing his family when he left the Big Brother house had been overwhelming.
Ryan explained: “For me, family is absolutely everything.
“To have my loved ones around me – especially my brothers and Lucy – has been a real privilege.
“I’ve got one more box to tick and that is getting home to my daughter as soon as possible.” Bookmaker Coral has priced up a number of special bets on what his future might hold.
He is odds on at 4-5 to announce his engagement to Lucy this year, and the pair are evens to get a reality TV show.
It is 6-4 for him to return to Corrie as Jason Grimshaw, and 2-1 he will appear on Strictly Come Dancing next year.
