Dyche foggy horror

-

From Page 1 big things. I told them after the game that they are now recognised after their achievements last season and the ‘little old Burnley’ thing doesn’t really apply.”

Burnley qualified for the Europa League after finishing seventh.

But their early start and finish in Europe now looks like it has put the skids under their domestic season.

They’ve already played 11 matches this season at home and abroad and are still looking for their first win.

Dyche said: “After finishing seventh last season and then getting a difficult start, suddenly people keep reminding you of it. They need to refresh and clear their minds.”

Not that Dyche was taking anything away from newly-promoted Wolves who could and should have run out much more comfortable winners.

He added: “They deserved to win. They are a good side. I would be surprised if they had any bother this season.

“You never know, but I would be very surprised because they are a good side who have invested well.”

Delighted Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo said: “I’m happy with what I saw and I thought we deserved to win the game.

“We had a lot of shots but I think the most important thing is how we controlled the game.

“Creating chances is difficult but we produced a lot. We have to improve on finishing them but we will work on it and improve.

“We will work hard on making sure that final touch is good but the talent is there.

“But we’re improving – we always do.”
