WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY

-

THE father-and-son duo affix bicycle clips round their ankles for a final jaunt in BRITAIN BY BIKE WITH LARRY & GEORGE LAMB (8pm, Channel 5). The amiable pair pedal down the Hebridean Cycle Way before dismounting to mingle with the locals – George enjoys a kickabout in a beauty spot with local footballers and Larry joins a local laird and his deerstalker in the hope of spotting deer, before the Lambs chill out to the invigorating sound of bagpipes. IF the Lambs’ travels whet your appetite for scenic views of Scotland, don’t switch over. A new series, WALKING BRITAIN’S LOST RAILWAYS (9pm, Channel 5), sees Rob Bell taking off on foot over all those railway lines decommissioned in the Sixties, kicking off his journey in Scotland.

Tonight Rob hikes from Elgin in Moray to Portsoy in Aberdeenshire, a line that once serviced the fishing and whisky industries, before he heads to Lossiemouth, where the docks still feature the steel tracks of the once-vital railway.

THE heat is on for the five remaining semi-finalists of CELEBRITY MASTERCHEF (8.30pm, BBC1). They’re tasked with throwing a bash in honour of The Antiques Roadshow’s 40th anniversary tonight, cooking a menu created by chef Paul Askew intended to show how well the amateurs cope with mass catering.

But the cookery challenges don’t end there – they’ll also have to whip up a sweet or savoury pie from a selection of ingredients and create one dish inspired by a person they love or admire.

At the end, one cook will hang up his or her pinny, and the remaining four sail through to Finals Week.
