Wane’s teary-O

-

SHAUN WANE is in danger of losing his hard-man reputation ahead of Wigan’s title push.

The Warriors coach

(above) got emotional when he talked publicly in June about his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.

And skipper Sean O’Loughlin admits the players are expecting more waterworks over the next few days.

O’Loughlin joked: “I am sure he will be blubbering over in team speeches. He can get emotional.”

Wane, who is joining Scotland Rugby Union, is one of several high-profile Wigan people set to leave.

England stars Sam Tomkins and John Bateman are also moving on and O’Loughlin said: “We want to send them off on a high.” O’Loughlin has only played twice in the last two months because of a niggling calf injury.

But he has a history of getting fit in time for big games and will play in tomorrow’s semi-final against Castleford.

He added: “The lads give me stick, especially Waney, about me coming back in time for important games.

“I don’t like missing games but it’s easier to come straight into a big game now I’m a bit older.”

Castleford lost last year’s Grand Final to Leeds and O’Loughlin fears that will make them even hungrier.

He said: “Once you get a taste for it, then it gives you belief the next time.”
