Corrie Anthony bingo jackpot
He’ll earn big numbers
CORRIE veteran Antony Cotton has signed up to become a bingo caller.
He will reportedly rake in up to £3,000 each night appearing at student events nationwide.
The actor, who plays knicker-stitcher Sean Tully on the hit ITV soap, will be showing his face and shouting out the ball numbers at themed nights across the country.
Antony – who had a brief stint as a bingo caller in 2015 – is thrilled about being offered the chance to return to his side job.
And he is hoping the gigs will lead to a more permanent stint as a caller at his local hall.
He said: “I just love bingo. I’m very lucky to be asked back.
“I’m always visiting the bingo anyway. I can’t wait.”
Antony, 43, first set foot on the Cobbles in 2003 and has become a firm fans’ favourite after a string of dramatic storylines.
He has also appeared on reality programmes I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and Dancing On Ice. But in the real world the actor loves nothing more than settling down for a night at the bingo.
Earlier this week Antony announced to his 2,000 Twitter followers: “En route to host another Rock and Roll Bingo @kellersheff !”
He has also appeared at a meetand-greet at Beacon Bingo in Ilkeston, Derbys.
The venue’s general manager, Andrew Collier, said: “An opportunity like this was too good to miss.
“It was fantastic to have Antony in our hall. Everyone was in such a good mood and had a great time.”
ANTONY Cotton is becoming a bingo caller. And with £3,000-an-appearance he’s guaranteed to be Top of the Shop.
