Eriksen ‘needs rest’

- By PAUL BROWN by ADRIAN KAJUMBA

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN’S agent has played down talk the Spurs star may have a chronic stomach injury. Denmark boss Age Hareide set alarm bells ringing when he claimed Eriksen’s injury “can be chronic, and it is true that Tottenham also fears that”. The midfielder (left) has missed four matches since he suffered the injury in the 2-1 win at Brighton.

But Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots, claims Hareide’s words were lost in translation and says his client is on the comeback trail.

He said: “Christian has no chronic injuries – nobody has said that. He just has an injury related to some fatigue and, for that reason, he is having some rest.

“That is normal because otherwise it would not heal. Christian is doing everything to be back as soon as possible.”

Eriksen, 26, missed Tottenham’s games against Watford, Huddersfield, Barcelona and Cardiff and there is no time frame for his return.

He will miss Denmark’s games against Republic of Ireland and Austria. But he has been doing light training away from his Spurs team-mates and the club remain relaxed about his fitness. BUY-OUT: Khan THE Football Association are investigating claims of “systemic corruption” surrounding the £600m sale of Wembley.

Craig Kline, Fulham’s former assistant director of football, made a series of explosive allegations about the club on Twitter, including claims of “racism” and “tapping up”.

Kline, dismissed by Fulham a year ago, has contacted the FA and has met with investigators.

Fulham owner Shahid Khan is trying to buy Wembley, with the FA Council meeting tomorrow to discuss his offer for the national stadium.

Khan sent a letter to every councillor insisting he will be a “responsible owner and operator”.

An FA spokesman said: “We have been contacted by Craig Kline who has made a series of allegations about Fulham. We are currently in the process of reviewing these allegations.”
