No trial for ‘sex in a jet’ teacher

-

A FORMER teacher will not face retrial over claims she had sex with a student on a school trip.

Eleanor Wilson, 29, had denied four charges of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust during a trial at Bristol Crown Court.

Judge Peter Blair QC, the Recorder of Bristol, told the jury they could leave after more than 10 hours of deliberations last week.

The jury foreman told the judge that there was no “realistic prospect” of reaching majority verdicts on any of the charges.

The Crown Prosecution Service had asked for a week to consider its next move.

Yesterday, a spokesman confirmed there would not be a retrial in the case.

Wilson, from Dursley, Glos, was accused of having drink-fuelled sex with the teenager on a British Airways flight in August 2015.

It was alleged the teacher, then 26, kissed and cuddled the boy before beckoning him into the loo.

She was also said to have seen him outside of school and allegedly kissed and cuddled him on three separate occasions.

She was banned from teaching in July last year.
