JESS GLYNNE is on course for a double No1 bonanza tomorrow – and it’s all a happy accident.

The soulful star’s new album Always In Between is heading for the top as is Little Mix’s comeback single which she co-wrote with Ed Sheeran.

Jess, whose album also includes another Sheeran collab called Thursday, told me: “It’s really weird because I wrote both of those songs on the same day with Ed. And it was about two years ago this month so it’s strange that that time has gone by and now both the songs are out at the same time.”

Giving Little Mix her song Woman Like Me was a dream come true for Jess.

Speaking at yesterday’s Q Awards where she gave Nile Rodgers the Legend gong, she said: “They are an important group because they’re such strong girls and have come along way since X Factor.

“It is empowering to see them doing so well and it was exciting to give them a song that meant a lot to me at a certain time in my life but now will mean a lot to them.

“Giving away such personal songs is weird, I haven’t really done it.

“But I feel that song is relevant to them more than me now so that’s why it’s worked.”

Jess believes only Ed Sheeran could have helped her write a song like Thursday, adding: “It’s definitely an empowering song.”

“Me and Ed chatted about the pressure of the industry, how it’s changed our lives and how we deal with things.

“It was interesting talking to another artist who has had uber-success because he’s experienced certain things people outside of the limelight don’t understand.

“So it was good to have the perspective of somebody who gets it.

“It turned into a bit of a therapy session – that’s where the song came from.”

Always In Between is out now.
