TV girl tried 4 times to blow into machine
A FORMER reality TV star couldn’t manage a breath test because her lips were “too big” to blow into the machine.
Scarlett Harrison, who appeared in MTV’s Ex On The Beach, knocked back Pink Gins before being pulled over in her Mini, a court heard.
Officers smelled alcohol on her breath and a roadside test found she was over the limit.
But when she was taken back to the police station and asked to give an accurate sample, she said: “My lips are too big.”
Harrison, 20, explained that her collagen implants made it too “difficult” to get her mouth around the intoximeter machine’s tube.
Neil White, prosecuting, said: “She tried to go through with it and attempted to blow four times.
“She told them she was anxious and nervous and when asked by the police officer if there was any reason why she couldn’t provide a sample, she said her lips were too big and she couldn’t blow into it. They asked if she had any medical conditions or health conditions that could stop her doing so and she said: ‘No, just my lips’.”
Harrison, of Bramhall, Cheshire, admitted failing to provide a breath sample after being stopped in Manchester city centre on June 20 and was banned from driving for 16 months. She was also fined £160 and ordered to pay £150 in court costs.
Matthew Wallace said in mitigation at Manchester Magistrates’ Court that Harrison was “very remorseful”.
She claimed she got in her car to go searching for a male friend after they had a row.
Mr Wallace said: “Along with the current trend, she has collagen implants in her lips which is something that caused her due difficulty in forming a seal around the tube.
“She was also attacked a number of months ago by a person and one side of her lip was damaged and has scar tissue, which provided further difficulty.”
